IRCC Issues 3,750 ITAs in Healthcare Occupations

IRCC's Third Express Entry Draw of the Week

Canada's immigration department, IRCC, is in the news for recent Express Entry draws. The latest draw issued 3,750 invites to apply in the healthcare category. This shows Canada's dedication to attracting skilled workers for healthcare roles. Understanding these draws is important for those seeking to move to Canada.

Details of the Recent Draws

The 3rd draw of the week, conducted on July 5, focused on healthcare occupations and invited 3,750 candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 445. This draw followed another category-based selection on July 4, which targeted 1,800 candidates in trade occupations. Earlier in the week, on July 2, a draw specifically for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates saw 920 invitations issued, with a significantly higher minimum CRS score of 739. This brings the total number of ITAs issued this week to an impressive 6,470, the highest since April.

Trends in Express Entry Draws

The recent draws highlight a notable trend towards program-specific selections, a strategy that began earlier this year. Since May 30, IRCC has conducted four program-specific draws, three of which focused on PNP candidates. This shift indicates a targeted approach to addressing specific labor market needs and reducing the backlog of temporary residents in Canada.

The Importance of Healthcare Occupations

Canada's healthcare sector faces a critical shortage of skilled professionals, making the recent draw for healthcare occupations particularly significant. Healthcare workers play a vital role in maintaining the well-being of the population and supporting the economy. By prioritizing these professionals, Canada aims to strengthen its healthcare system and ensure the provision of quality care.
